Services and Cosmetic Procedures
Can you show me what my smile can look like ahead of time?We routinely use three-dimensional models to help our patients visualize the end results of aesthetic and restorative work. By simply asking the right questions, taking various photos of your current smile, and carefully constructing the model to correspond to your input, we'll generate an excellent example of how your procedure will affect your smile. "Crowns, veneers, on-lays, inlays, partials where can I learn more about what you guys are talking about?"Our web site is designed to help you learn all you need to know about the various restorative and cosmetic techniques we offer. Simply visit our Patient Library, then select your article topic from the listing provided. Happy reading! I really don't like visiting the dentist, is there anything you can do to help me relax? We understand that many people have qualms about having their teeth worked on. So, we strive to create a relaxing atmosphere. At the time of your evaluation, we'll talk with you about your concerns and may prescribe a relaxant to be taken prior to the procedure. Once you're familiar with our staff, we're sure you'll find their gentle, personable care eliminates any anxiety you may have experienced in the past. I don't like drills. Are there any other options?Fortunately for patients like you, we've mastered our drilling technique to the point of creating 'just enough' room for a filling. It's now a much more conservative procedure, requiring removal of only a tiny portion of the tooth to be treated. What that means to you, is that the drilling is over almost before you notice that it started. We don't use 'air abrasion' because it's simply not cost-effective or necessary with our refined drill procedure. How can I have whiter teeth? There are a number of at-home bleaching procedures available that we recommend to help whiten your smile. Dr. Knox can help evaluate the potential for whitening your teeth, based on their current color and the causes of any discoloration. Once we've created the custom-fit trays for you to use at home, you'll probably spend anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks undergoing a series of short and simple whitening treatments. Most patients can expect to end up with teeth approximately 2 shades brighter on the dental shade chart (however, teeth with crowns or white filling do not whiten during these treatments, of course they no longer turn dark with time like natural teeth). I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces, what can you do to help?Dr. Knox has a number of ways to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of unsightly braces. For slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth, a bit of reshaping and the addition of porcelain veneers may be sufficient to give them a bright, uniform look. We'd be happy to talk with you further about the option that best suits your individual situation. |
